Payday is Monday, so nothing in EF until then. My change jar, OTOH, is bulging!

I received $100 as a late birthday gift from my dad, so I am going to put that in the EF, so I need to open a savings account for the money.

Are there any suggestions on which banks pay the best interest rate on savings at this time?

Okie Dokie...BF and I are starting to save for a house since I'm now employed. I was going to start a blog to keep track of my new-home-fund...but, I have a good feeling I wouldn't keep up on it like I should.

SO, in light of that, I think I'll just join in this challenge instead...since as Greebo pointed out in a thread of mine last fall, essentially our house savings IS an emergency fund until it is officially used as a down payment.

I'll keep my siggy as up-to-date as possible and hopefully post at least once a week. My plan is to put my entire paycheck towards the savings each week, since we were living off of BF's paycheck before I got this new job anyway. We'll also put any OT money he earns, as well as MOST of the money from his very part-time remote (via internet) job with our old company back home. Any money I earn on the side at the company he works for here (I do odd jobs and run a newsletter) in FL will also go towards our goal.

Hopefully the car will behave, our apartment will say mold-free, and I won't be visiting the ER again anytime soon. That would help our goal IMMENSELY lol.. here's hoping for an awesome 2011!

I've used the online bank ING Direct for several years. They dont offer anywhere near the rates they used to, but at 1.1% right now its one of the best rates around. There are no account fees or minimum balance requirements either.

I love ING. I have been using it for about five years now, and no complaints.
