Love the loose change opportunities. Love letting that change pile p and get that nice payday at the end of the month. Lately though with my bank discoing the change counters, I am now spending my loose change on small purchases like dollar menu items at mcds (never forget to fill out that survey on the back of that reciept), 711 iced coffes, etc. Thus making my bills stick aroud longer. But something I think everyone should consider is as u pile your change keep a eye out for 90 percent silver dimes, quarters, and halves dated 64 and earlier. Its uncommon to find them in circulation but some are still floating around and you can turn them into a coin dealer and get there melt value. Also look for wheat pennies, most are heavily circulated and u can get a few cents for each. If they are key dates, cthey are worth more. Just thought I would reccomend a fun spin on change hoarding.

Nope. Don't do it. Imagine the cost to the government to mint and keep circulating all those coins, in every American household, even the worthless pennies. Yes, I am "that guy" in the checkout line that has the coins ready in his hand, to ensure the least amount of coins back. We use the envelope system, intentional with every dollar and every coin.
