Been munching on Christmas goodies and lunchmeats for weeks now.
Dh spent about $25. on more milk, lunchmeat and ice cream the other day. I did get some chicken that went bad and that hurt.
I adjusted the groc. up to $500. a month for the 2 of us and DD about 50% of the time. I am going to try and keep it simple and move that back down though.
Now that deep winter is hitting I usually cook at home more anyway instead of carryouts

First week came out to $113. Not bad considering we went to my father-in-law's for a few days and had to buy a few things there that would not have been purchased at home. Left some stuff for him so that we didn't have to haul it home as well. Hoping for a lower week but expecting to do a lot of couponing so we will see how it works out.

Spent another $75 CAD yesterday at the cheap grocery store! That's $246 so far and it's not even the 10th! I am hoping to hold out now till the 15th. I have some grocery money left for milk and eggs, if we need them, but that's it. DH and boarder have expensive tastes. DH claims my gluten free food is not cheap, and he's right there. But I have not bought any of that other than what was half price. So I don't think that's what's driving up the cost. I think it's our style of eating now the boarder is here.

Spent 137.04 for next week's groceries. I'm at 293.84/640.00 for the month. I will need to pick up a couple of items in the middle of the week, but should come in below budget.

Have spent 88.25 so far from my $300 budget. Have been using up as much as I can at home. I will be doing from the 1st - 15th and then 16th to end of month so will have $150 for each two week period. I figure that I am doing pretty good so far seeing as I have 61.75 left and have 5 days left ! Hopefully will not have much to buy except milk.

Man is meat ever expensive!!! I wanted to stay to $100 this month but that isn't going to happen. We were TOTALLY out of beef which is unacceptable in this house full of meat eaters. Ran into store today to get a phone card and just happened to check out the meat clearance. Yep, beef was on clearance. Not as good a sale as usual but I had a $5 off $25 purchase coupon that expired today so once I did the caculations in my head, it was a pretty decent deal. I got 6 pounds of ground beef, 5 pounds of thin slice sirloin tip steaks and 2 pounds of beef stew meat. To equal my $25, I added in a can of refried beans and a can of Spanish rice, which I use to make nachos, and after my coupons it was exactly $27.82. I thought that was pretty good, especially with today's meat prices. I went to another store and had to buy milk, bread, eggs, cheese, bananas, canned beans for chili, chili powder, taco seasoning, ketchup, mustard, French bread, yogurt, bottled water, drink mix sticks, frozen onion & pepper blend, ramen noodle packs (I use for quick chicken stir fry on busy extracurricular activity nights), spaghetti, and a few other things I can't remember right now. My total for the week is $63 (including my almost $28 beef stock up). Add that to my $6 from last week and I am at $69. So I definitely won't make the $100 goal, but hopefully I can keep it under $150, which is $50 under our usual budget.

well..... I just finished adding the last of my receipts for 2014...eek! My goal was $50 wk and it averaged out to $72wk. I will increase my budget to $58wk/250mo. My biggest problem is adding to my stockpile, can't resist the sale! Dh will be without a paycheck for a couple of months, will still receive his pension but that's less than half of what we're used to so the stockpile will be used!

spent another $60. this morning and got 10 of my cereals @ $1.99.
    2 week total is $236./$550.

Still need a few things from The other Kroger but have 2 weeks worth of other things already. Still working this all out as DH and I have opted to cut eating out to a bare bones. So some of the cost will to get up to speed to cook at home. again.
