I went for a BIG shopping trip (it had been a MONTH) and spent about $190.00. This puts me at about $265.00, so I am OK. I will only need some fruit, bread and eggs fro the rest of the month. My best deals? Dental floss (2) they paid me .03 to carry out of the store (EACH!), free salad (2 lbs.), a pork roast that was marked waaay down (about .65/lb!) and free Capri sun 10 pack--I had a free coupon since I had a box that leaked!

I forgot--I also got thre Betty Crocker fudgy cake mixes (haven't seen these before) that were marked 50% off plus sis had a .10 c/o, so got them for .34 each, a 16 lb bag of my cat food that was torn, so it was 50% off plus I had a 2.00 coupon for it and Electrasol that was 50% off, plus I had the printed out coupon for .75, making the box cost .90!

up to: 151.08 spent so far
(bought chicken breast, bread, oranges, strawberries, trash bags and some snack stuff since the last I posted)

I have about 49$ left to work with, my shopping list is ready for next week's Ralphs trip, and so far that should total 15$ not counting a few other items at Albertsons I'll pick up. I want to keep myself under control for the rest of the month

Well, I was $8.85 over for March, but I still consider that a success, considering the stuff I bought today...lots of meat and chicken that there are no coupons for. So, here's how we did today:

    1 gallon milk
    3 packages Perdue chicken breast
    3 beef eye round roasts
    2 small steaks
    ShopRite mashed potatoes
    ShopRite minute rice
Centrum Performance ($12.47!!! Need the vitamins, though)
    Suave deodorant (free after rebate)
    4.99 lbs bananas
    5 Granny Smith Apples
    2 loaves D'Italiano bread

    Total Before Coupons: $54.16
    Total After: $46.11

    Goal: $130
    Spent: $138.85
Family: 2 adults, 2 year old dd, 98 lb dog

    Hi Ladies,
Have you ever looked at all those lovely coupons that you have that are about to expire and a great sales comes along that you can use those coupons on? Well....that happened to me and DH was none too pleased until I pointed out that I spend way less on groceries than anyone else he knows! And...we are stocked up for ages on lipton's side dishes (we know have a huge grocery bag full). I mean, seriously, how can you pass them up at .59 a package plus you have all those lovely $1/4 coupons that are about to expire and teenaged sons who go through these things like water? I ONLY got 36 of the side dishes....LOL! I was also able to get Hot Pockets for $1 a box after combining coupons and sales. Now DH loves these, so he had better not complain or I'll hide them all from him! LOL!
I ended up spending $87 at 3 different stores combined but stocked us up on steaks, sausages, fruit, all of the above items, cat litter, cat food, salad dressings, vegis, ice cream, cottage cheese, chicken nuggets, fish sticks, a case of macaroni and cheese, paper plates, etc.. I used $21 worth of coupons too! At one store I saved $25.80 just in sale prices and that was before deducting the coupons.

    Goal: $200
    Spent: $223
over by $23 but I won't have to buy certain items for months now.

I know we spent about 5$ on snacks in the last week, so it looks like I came in 35.72 under my goal.

Although I had PLANNED on spending all of that on March 31, we just never went out shopping

    total spent for march: 164.28
    Goal was: 200.00

Ok I totally blew March's challenge! I had to dip into it to help cover the cost of the VET. Man Pet meds are as expensive as human meds! I'll do better this month April
