Having a great May. I love my little side business. I keep thinking more and more about just jumping over to it full time. Passed my monthly goal. Passed $32K for year to date income.

    MAY GRAND TOTAL: $7,528.54

June income will be lower than May's. I expect it to come from the April speaking engagement I haven't yet been paid for (supposed to come in next week or so), the June seminar, June webinar, small study group, and stragglers to big study group. I expect this to be a lighter month all around.

Got a couple hundred in June already, which brings me past $33K for year to date income. I am more than halfway to my annual income goal, despite it being only 5 months in to the year. Woo hoo!

    Congratulations.
I completed surveys for gift cards. May total was $45. So far in June $5. I use the GCs to keep the grocery bills down. Sometimes free products are involved. A few months ago - aluminum foil! Hard to figure out why they thought their foil was new & improved.....

Woo hoo dircpa! Every little bit helps!

June has been lower than my prior months this year, but that's on me. I haven't been consistent this month in getting out my marketing emails and promotions. Really makes a difference. I have several events scheduled over the next week though so expect several more signups. I've gone past $34K for the year to date income.

June is still low and that's still on me. I haven't been consistent with my mailings.

Then on top of it, I realized that the webinar I had scheduled this month is one I offered last year and had totally forgotten about. Sheesh... Attendance was lower than usual but now I know why. Don't think I'll hit my goal for the month, but that's ok. It's still a decent month.

@MsMariett - I just wanted to say that your accomplishments in this thread are SOOO inspiring! You're killing it! I wish I could be as successful with a part-time online job. I do have an MBA, but have yet to use it fully. I want to own my business, but with working full-time not in my field, it's difficult to want to work on a computer when I get home, or on weekends. Eventually, I want to start an etsy shop and sell hand-dyed yarn, run a hobby farm, etc. But for now, like others on here, I will mturk. I've used that site for a few years, but only made $100 so far. My goal for now is $1,000 and once I hit that I'll increase it from there. We are saving towards our Disneyland trip in October. Thru our normal full-time jobs, we bring in an extra $3,500 a month, but I only want to include income made from mturk/Bing/Swagbucks/Perk - just the online income. As June is almost over, I will join in on July 1st.

My new job started this week. It is a toss-up. I get a higher hourly pay rate but am spending more time commuting. So my gross pay for the month will increase (same hours X higher rate) although I'm spending more total time to earn it. Also have to pay for parking and increased gas costs. Everything else should be about the same. We'll see how it goes.

Thanks Aliciaknits! Welcome to the challenge. I am so glad to have more company on the journey. I hope you make time to work on your side business. You'll never know if it is has potential until you actually start doing it! Maybe you could just start small with it and see how it goes.

dlrcpa - it's definitely something I have considered in the past with job changes. Commute time, gas costs, public transport, parking, clothing, etc. are all factors that can add up quickly. Hubby and I realized with his last job (which thank goodness is in the past), we were spending about $500 every month on gas, parking, tolls etc. It really added up. Congratulations on the new job! I hope you love it.

    June 2017 Grand Total: $2,662.16

Lower than I had hoped, but it's all good for me.

July income will also be somewhat low. Income will come from stragglers to my small study group, July webinar, early signups for August webinar and another small study group signups.

I've set my goal for the month at $2,008.63 - an odd amount I know, but it brings me to a nice round number of a goal.

    July is starting off nicely.

Earned another $10 GC from surveys. Hubby will be gone one weekend in August. Thinking about trying to sell some quilts that weekend. Could do a "car boot" sale near the farmer's market or just put a sign in the driveway and be on stand-by in the garage area with things to be sold. It's just easier when he is not involved.

That's great dlrcpa. Every dollar counts!

Have you considered setting up a shop on etsy or facebook for your quilt sales?

I opened up registration on a few more study groups and a webinar.

Made my goal for the month. While it seems like an odd number, it actually has significance. I have now made $150,000 since I started this business 1/2014. I think that's a pretty awesome milestone.

Got another signup, plus I realized I forgot to include my check for my April speaking engagement I finally received earlier this month.

    July 2017 Grand Total: $3,986.72

    Year to Date Income: $39,642.92

I'm a little disappointed I didn't pull in another $400 this month to break $40K, but that's ok. I feel pretty confident about passing it in August. I'm currently running about the same as last year. My income always dips a bit during the summer, for several reasons (timing of big study groups, I lighten my work load a bit in summer to enjoy the time, I think people are less inclined to sign up for things over the summer as they want to enjoy their time).

I expect my August income to come from my August webinar, August exam cram, September webinar (when announced in late August), August seminar, two small study groups and a bit from my upcoming big study group.

My big action in August will be working with my vendor to set up my virtual symposium later this year.
