    Grand Total for October: $5,321.79

    Year to Date Total: $52,583.70

November income will come from my small study group starting in November, my big study group starting in January, my November webinar, my November new webinar series, my December seminar, payment of a webinar I did last month, and probably payment of my study group that finishes in November (though that may take until December). I expect November to be a pretty decent month, even with the Thanksgiving holiday. I picked my goal amount for November because it brings my year to date income to match what I made in all of 2016. I'd like to hit that this month and I think there's a pretty good chance I will.

Congratulations, you seem to be doing well. I am bracing for 2018 as I have decided to quit the job I just started at the end of June. Just don't want to go through the winter working for these people not to mention the horrible commute. I will be signing up for health insurance starting January 1 to replace what I have through this job. First step. Need to figure out how to make some replacement income if possible also.

Completed surveys to redeem a $10 gift card. They are mailing plastic to my home in 30 business days. ugh, not worth it.

dlrcpa, that's a big scary step without having a full plan in place. What are you going to do for supplemental income? Feel free to post lots of ideas on here!

November has been a fairly decent month, though I expect the rest of this week to be quiet with the holiday here in the US.

I'm working on my 2018 master calendar. Lots of exciting things coming next year.

Aw, thank you for asking. I did "land" a new job beginning Dec 4. So "officially unemployed" only from Dec 1-Dec 3. Need to avoid any "train wreck" that weekend and am thinking about staying home and hiding in bed. New job will apply health insurance retro to Dec 1 but I need to show up for work & start on Dec 4!

Overall for 2017 I think I did well enough. Started the year in a job at $xx/hour and no benefits other than some vacation days. Ending the year at $10/hr MORE than before and health insurance benefits (they will pay partly at least). No vacation time but I am hourly so just won't work when I want some free days. Overall I am pretty happy with that.

I do have some ideas on de-cluttering and raising a bit of cash but that is mostly for simplifying life rather than necessity.

Best of luck in 2018 to everyone and may your work be fulfilling as well as rewarding!

Also will mention for anyone who is interested: I have been tracking personal/household spending for years in a spreadsheet, so know what it costs to "run" the house. I have retirement savings but have avoided needing to withdraw any. All debts are paid off including the mortgage. I have cash on hand for emergencies and any significant needs that might come up (such as replacing a car.) So I work because I enjoy it under the right circumstances. I sure hope the new job is enjoyable but if I hate it as much as I hated the "intermediate" job with horrible commute, I won't need to stay if I don't want to. I want to avoid drawing on emergency cash & retirement as long as I can just out of prudence.

dlrcpa, well that certainly takes a lot of pressure off! How nice for you to have the means to be able to walk away when you are not happy. I am sure many people wish they did.

I am excited because today my year to date income hit what I made for all of 2016. So every dollar I earn in December is gravy over the top.

    November Grand Total: $4,638.15

    Year to date income: $57,221.85

My income from December should come from payment for my study group I did for a company, my December seminar (minor, since it is being held Dec. 2), my 2018 study groups when I open registration on them, and my big study group which starts the first week in January. I expect to finish the year fairly strong and think I will make my annual goal.

I ended up having a fantastic 2017. So much so that I quit my day job to run my side business full time.

    December Grand Total: $5,332.32

    2017 income: $62,760.96

Although I am continuing my own 2018 Make More Money Challenge, I don't think I will start a thread here. I was pretty much the only one participating in the challenge and my success may have made others more timid about participating.

But I do encourage all to go for it!! Look for side hustles and ways to bring in more money! You can do it!
