Default 2017 Make More Money Challenge - Tracking Log

In 2014, I did my first Make More Money Challenge and made almost $15K in extra income.
In 2015, I made over $40K in extra income.
In 2016, I made over $56K in extra income.

All of that was in addition to my full time day job.

Imagine what you could do with extra money coming in every month - how much less stressful your life could be, how much more good you could do with charity, how much faster your debt could be paid off, how quickly your savings balance might rise...

For 2017, I am setting a goal for myself of $60K in extra income. I'm going to have to do everything I did in prior years, PLUS!!!

I have several ideas for additional revenue streams. I just need to take ACTION on them.

Here's the background for anyone who wishes to join me.

We do a lot of focusing on this site on reducing our expenses and spending less, especially on frivolous items. This is obviously wonderful!

However, I think we also should give some thought to making more money. I'm throwing out a challenge for all of you to join me in actively bringing in more money. This thread is for tracking your efforts to bring in additional income in any way you can (providing services, selling things, etc.). I don't want you to just think about what you could possibly someday eventually maybe do (get my point here?). I want you to DO IT or at least make a real effort!!! This is the place to record the ACTIONS you take towards making more money and the income generated.

You can set a goal for a specific dollar amount each month or you can just leave that open ended. It's up to you. You can try for as much or as little as you like.

If you need ideas for things you can do, search the site. There are LOTS of threads on how to make extra money.

Anyone in with me? I would love the company. Your goal can be as small as you like (say $50 a month) or as big as you want (replacing your full time income so you can quit your job).

I'm in! My goal is to make $50 extra a month. This would definitely help us pay down our debt more quickly

That's awesome FrugalWAHM. What's your strategy for achieving that goal?

My goal is to make $100/weekly through Mechanical Turk/Amazon. I started doing it mid year here and there, and have made $1100 this year.

To start, I've got some things I can sell. We are trying to simplify our home and selling extra clothes, things we simply don't use anymore, etc. will go toward that goal and the making more money goal. In addition to selling items, I am looking for freelance writing work.

That sounds like a plan FrugalWAHM. You might want to join some local garage sale facebook groups. I've got several in my town. Plus look at craiglist, ebay and bookoo (last site is closed on Sundays).

I started off the year well. My first student signup came through at 2:24 AM today. I think 2017 is going to be an awesome year! I'm setting a minimum goal of $1,000 for every month, but in reality I am shooting for $2,000 as my real minimum.

Last year, I only got passive income from earlier years' work. I've worked far too much at my regular job, and had to transfer 14 days of PTO to 2017. This year I'll try to cut back on the workload so I can do it within normal hours, and free up time for photographing, designs, and writing. I started today by uploading a few new designs to Zazzle.
    Total paid/saved: $118 900
    Total goal: $290 900
    To do: $172 000

Yes, I'm already part of two different BST sites in our area, plus I've joined a classifieds group run by our local telephone company on their website. I've already got three items listed and hope to get at least three more posted tomorrow!

Gaja, that's awesome that you have passive income coming in! Hopefully this year you can do more to expand your side income.

FrugalWAHM, staying consistent is half the battle!

Got a few more signups. January is starting well.

Had a few more students sign up for my study group that starts tomorrow night.

I'm already a few weeks ahead of last year's income milestones.

Made $5 toward my $50 goal today by making a sale on one of our local B/S/T sites! Only $45 to go!

That's a great start FrugalWAHM! Half the battle is getting started!

Had several more students sign up for my study group that started tonight.

I've blown past my minimal goal for the month. Moving on to my stretch goal. I feel like 2017 is going to be a fantastic year on so many levels.

I've had several more signups for my study groups and webinar. I'm almost at my stretch goal for the month, which is awesome.

This is the most money I have made in January since starting these challenges three years ago. It has been my lowest income month each of the last three years. Let's hope that proves to be the case this year too! Last year, it took me until Feb. 2 to make the same amount of money.

I opened registration on two new study groups.
