It is time to get serious with every line item in the budget since I am trying to fully fund the EF thus the grocery budget has come under scrutiny!!! I am going to be implementing a new eating plan with lots of oatmeal and beans ( instead of rice and beans)!! I AM SERIOUS THIS TIME!!! So I am back to hang out with all you serious savers/shoppers etc. I have started scouring the old posts here on FV and I am beginning by trying OLD recipes with the 1st one being this breakfast sausage which is made without meat and with oatmeal as I have all the ingredients at home (video description below). THE GROCERY BUDGET IS GOING DOWN!!!!!!!

Nov.-ended up w/ $482.88 w/ buying DD $90. worth of groc.,Thanksgiving, some stockpiling and too much produce waste. DH was only here 2 weeks of the month though. Good/bad? IDK but the bottomline was $600. and i'M BELOW. So cheers to me.lol

Dec.-found BC frosting .50 a can and BC cookie mixes for $1. so I spent $55.50 on charity groc. but will keep that separate again. DH is gone another week before the end of the year so $500. incl. helping DD. Still going for very low out to eat. Going to make a giant pot of chicken soup and maybe chili. Taking Christmas dinner out of this and the pantry stockpile too.

I went way over last month but did do a lot of stockpiling. I'll keep the budget at $275 and really hope I am way under. It's the 6th and I've spent less than $5 so here's hoping. I already have everything needed for Christmas dinner except maybe some fresh fruit for a salad.

Spent $300. at 2 stores together and got Christmas dinner, groc and for DD. SO my total is $480.87/$500. and almost 2 weeks to go but I'm loaded on meat incl a big turkey breast, giant ham,a big beef roast and already had a literal vat of chicken noodle soup. I got 2 bags of oranges and 2 of apples, a few bananas,2 salad mixes and romaine,3 bags of bitty carrots,2 pies, free vanilla ice cream,2 loaves of bread, potatoes, onions,I'm making the chili tomorrow and maybe the roast as I want to divide that up for stew or stir fry. Had a few cartons of eggs and 4 marg and got 2 butters. Bought 3# of lean ground beef for Sloppy joes and spaghetti. The only thing I may have to buy is milk as DH drinks too much and I have 3 gallons and 1 gallon choc. also bought 2 cornish game hens and orange juice. Have canberry, stuffing mix, pasta for pasta salad and just got oil. Bought chips, crackers, salami chubs and 6 bars of cheese for munchies. Also dips and chips. We have frozen chicken, steaks, hot dogs, brats, precooked hamb, sausage,a bit of bacon.
Really cant think of anything I need.

Only spent 1/2 of grocery budget for the month, good considering it is already the 19th. Need to do some meal planning though, not much variety on hand. I plan to get some grocery items at CVS, I have a few Extrabucks to spend and that is always a help.

I've had to adjust the food budget up to about $300 each month as my $280 goal was just slightly too low.
Focus on getting ahead, one penny at a time! Keep the main thing the main thing!

12-21 look like I will be going over this month I spent $30.25 yesterday for groceries that put me up to $122.45 then I am sending a check by my dd tomorrow to get a ham. I will try bring it back down in 1-2018 as I am getting a better stock pile.My middle ds usually buys and fix a ham and turkey but he off from work had 16 cancers taken off face head and back a bout a week ago and dd is probably going to have to have surgery she has a cyst on her ovary not getting to work much hurting all time but she works when they have work.
