Budget about half spent so that seems OK. I bumped my original amount up by the money that mom gave me towards their groceries. I am not used to all this extra cooking and spending on their behalf.

I read the other day that the SNAP maximum for a single person in 2017 is increasing to $194.00/month or about $44.75/week. I will use that as my weekly target amount for 2017 for food, cleaning products, HBA, etc... My target will actually be lower than the SNAP amount because SNAP is limited to food.

So far this year I've spent $10.78.

I should be able to accumulate a little cushion during January if I make an effort to eat out of inventory and use up the odds and ends in my freezing compartment and pantry.
    Week 1 $ 22.37
    Week 2 $ 32.58

So far this week $ 17.39.

I am still trying to work with goods on hand, in the freezer and pantry. I have found that it helps me to jot down the possible meal combinations, using the items on hand, so I can see the possibilities rather than just seeing frozen lumps, bottles and cans, LOL!

Small trip to the grocery store today. A few things went in the freezer. I still plan to go to CVS and use coupons. Probably getting cereal and dried fruit there.

I was hoping to keep the remainder of Jan at $25wk that didn't happen but so far I am below my budget of $250mo so I can't complain. I have really only bought fresh and items for the stockpile. I would like to continue to concentrate on using what's on hand for at least another month but I will be buying extras for a special birthday/valentine dinner.

2 trips to different Safeways in 2 days. So over budget by $13. But that includes things that won't be eaten for a while. Not bad. $56 in coupons used among all stores. I got cookie mixes for under 50 cents. Hubby will use the mixes himself so having a few on hand is good.

Budget for February still $180 plus whatever cash mom pitches in for their food.

Finished the month at $212 way below my $250 but I was hoping for less since I was mostly eating from the stockpile. I will keep Feb at $250 food only for 3 adults but am aiming to use up more of the stockpile still. I am completely out of ground beef and will probably have to pay regular price, gotta have nachos on game day
