Dcpa-Well can you divide it up and have a few chopped pieces for stir fry and a roast and such. That what i do and freeze. Sometimes the roast go so low I buy 2-3. We are mostly 2 now also.

FYI to anyone w/ a Kroger. PI DAY is today and all pies in the bakery are $3.14. DH is a dork and also loves pie so I will get 3. Freeze 2 and have 1 for him. Going to try and get flavors ID like. And anyone w/ a Meijers they have super good produce sales and buy 10 get the 11th free. Aldi has cheap carrots and .49 cabbage again.

My grocery spending this month was ridiculously low. I mostly let hubby go buy himself whatever he wants, which includes a lot of junk and packaged sides. I got the freebies offered by 2 stores in the last week - Activia 4-pack, chips ahoy thins, and a noodle soup cup. Sister-in-law sent us home with leftovers last Saturday so that helped with sandwiches a few days. Keeping April budget the same. No big plans for Easter since I will still be working, and we are pretty sick of ham by now. I like roast chicken, maybe I'll push that.

Going to try this challenge again. I have full cupboards, freezer, fridge that i want to use.
My challenge to myself is 25.00 a week each week plus 25.00 for month for hba.
I put money for each week in envelopes. I can write what I need on envelope and put coupons
in with cash. That with grocery card is all that will go into the store with me.

Will meal plan on Sundays and just get the fill ins I need for the weeks menu.

Our grocery store has 5 packs of meat for 19.99 so i will try to do that on a week I don't
    need anything.

Fingers crossed. I will just post my results every weekend.

Well 25.00 a week didn't work so we decided to shop every 2 weeks and use 50.00 cash.
I spent 36.06 and with what i already have at home we are good until 3rd week. I do have
the extra in envelope in case we need an item or 2. I still have my 25.00 for hba but haven't
    needed any of it yet.

I am under budget on groceries but went over in a couple other areas (dog stuff and household/utilities.) The danged hams are STILL on sale under $1/lb so mom said to get one for her. I am really pretty tired of ham at this point.
