    Exclamation March grocery challenge

Only a couple days left of Feb. Wow!!

For March, I'm setting my goal at $300.00. Thats $50.00 lower than last month, but I really need to keep it at $300.00.

Thats for a family of 5, no pet food included.

Since I made my goal for February(or at least very close to it) I'm going to keep my goal at 300$ for march.

That includes eating out/HBA/diapers/cleaning supplies/paper goods/batteries as well as the regular food/drink items. For a family of three, one in diapers, in the California bay area. Daily doubles at one grocery chain (copuons double up to 1$, so 1.50 off one will be 2.50$ off my bill)

This month I'll make sure to send my husband to the *cheaper chinese place when I get my craving for eggrolls

I'm going to attempt to keep it at or under $200. I did go over for February and I need to get back on track! This is for a family of 5 with 3 teenaged boys, lots of their friends over that I also feed, and 5 cats(one on a special diet) that go through lots of food and kitty litter.

Yes, Deb I forgot the teens that are always here, too. I should add that into my budget! There's always someone here on the weekends....

Well, I was successful with staying under $200 for February, but just barely. However, since I made it, this month I'm going to aim for $175.00 for March. This may be tough because I plan on getting more fresh fruits and vegetables since I'm breastfeeding and want to be eating as healthy as possible, but we're going to try! Dh is going out tonight to do the shopping for the week, so we'll see how the first week in March goes!

i was way under my goal in Feb. which is great but I didnt get as much stocking done as I wanted. So my goal in March is $250.00. I have already done my shopping trip for the next couple of weeks and spent $97.00 that leaves me with $153.00. This is fro a family of 6 plus one growing puppy and includes all groceries, hba, and paper products.

I managed to stay under $240 for February (feeding 4 + buying groceries for 9 more at times)

I'll plan on $240 for March as well, although I'm not seeing much in good deals lately and we've been eating more and more from my stockpile.

I am counting today's trip in with March (is that okey )

Anyway, I think I did pretty well. The store I shop at had some great deals on meat with their discount/rewards card. I spent $43.19.

5 can's each, diced tomatoes and tomato sauce (I plan on making and freezing some spaghetti sauce and some chili) for $2.50

    2lbs red skin potatoes $1.29

    2 can's carrots $1.00

2 (2lb 13oz) containers of Ragu spaghetti sauce (one tomato, basil and garlic and one garden combo mushroom & green peppers. $4.38

1 12-pack of sundrop and one of coke (The Coke products were BOGOF) for $3.99.

Those were the items that were on special. Here is what else I got on my trip today.

    foil
    freezer bags
    storage containers
Spices to restock my spice rack
    dog food
    cat food
    cat litter
    toothpaste
    sour cream
    salsa
    cottage cheese
    chicken taquitas
    frozen pizzas
    Easter candy
