I've never done the challenge before. I think I'll track what I spend this month and report back at the end of the month. April will see some cutbacks!

I made my first trip of the month today. Total before coupons/sales was $58. They took off $28 in coupons/sales so my out of pocket was $30! I have $70 left for the month but I only took $50 out of the bank. I'd like to see if I can make it and put the extra $20 towards debt. It should be possible because I won't be going to the store for a couple weeks once the baby comes. I'll just send DH with enough $$ for milk, eggs, and bread.

Hello I'm new, and am very interested in saving on the grocery bill. Do you have any articles or helpful tips for me? I only have to buy for my husband and me, and a very fat cat. My husband loves his cookies, chips and junk...I try not to eat very much junk, and love cooking stir-fry, salads, soups. We probably spend $250 or so a month on a big shopping trip......but then I go back each week and spend about 30-40 more. Can you help me? and what do you gals and Guys do ?

So far for the month I am at 98.60. I DID buy some things that I normally would not have though... But other than milk, bread and a bit of fresh produce, I probably have enough in the house to not spend anything more for 2 weeks or so. Today at the Eagle, I scored 3 free tubes of toothpaste and 2 toothbrushes free with coupons. Also got Mini Wheats for 1.89 and the final coupon for the free DVD offer. Scrubbing bubbles, which I just cant live without, cost 1.00 after my coupons so I grabbed three of those. DH and I are driving to Cleveland to see a show with DGD then driving back late in the evening so I picked up some sandwich fixings and chips to eat in the car while we drive. Cheaper and healthier than fast food even though I normally would not have bought them.

I think I am going to try to NOT spend anything more this week and next week limit myself to the necessities only.

Yesterday I spent $7.92 at Aldi's buying produce for pizza and salad fixings. We had family over today.
Tomorrow will be the big test... the first big grocery shopping event for the week. I've made a menu and a list... now I hope I can stick to it!!

I have never kept track of grocery money so have no idea what to set it at. Will just be very careful and see what I spend and then maybe after that aim for a bit lower every month. So far this month have spent $22.12.

I added another 60 odd dollars with the big grocry shopping list for the week. I have been really good in recent months about not going back to the store after the weekly shopping. I needed to add a few things to my pantry, so I am hoping next week will be smaller!

Meat and spinach were on sale this past week. I picked up lots...stockpiling. That put me back $100. So $100 left till the end of March! Let's see if I can do it!

Okay, we did our first shop for March yesterday. We did very well. I won't post everything we got because it's a long list, because I stockpiled some foods that I'll be needing in the month ahead, and they were on sale, however, I will show you some of the highlights!

2 loaves of WonderKids bread for $0.09 each!
4 bottles of L'Oreal Kids shampoo and conditioner FREE!!!
3 boxes of PopSecret Light Butter popcorn $0.53 each!
3 boxes of Kraft Mac and Cheese mix $0.33 each!

The original cost of this shopping trip was $125.70.
After coupons, sales, $10 in baby bucks, $5.00 in Amex rewards, and a $6.00 catalina coupon from last trip, our total was...
    $72.11!

Feeling pretty good and well-stocked for March. Next week, unless there are some great sales to match my coupons, I think I'll just be buying milk and yogurt. Rob will be on a business trip, so we'll be having lots of breakfast foods for dinner, and I can make those from what I have in the fridge and pantry already! Kids will be thrilled and we'll be saving money!

Bought $25 worth of groceries last night. Should see us through till payday. Company arriving tomorrow though. We'll see what happens...I think we're feeding a teen boy supper for the week.

    So $100 +$25 = $125
    $200 - $125 = $75 left for the month

This is going to be interesting to see if I can do this.

Holding steady at $34. Couldn't believe the bill came out to exactly that! Makes it easy to remember! I will have to cave in and go shopping again within a day or two, though. I set my limit at $200 for the month.
