Default New Member Here from NYC

    Hi everyone,

My name is Mike and I live in NYC (one of the most expensive cities in the US of course). Naturally, living frugally is appealing to me due to the cost of living but I also have specific spiritual beliefs that mesh well with frugal living. I had wanted to jump in on the no eating out challenge but, as a new member I can't reply to that thread so I'll have to wait for July. Anyway, I hope to learn a lot from you guys.

    Best wishes,

    Mike

Hi Mike! Welcome to the Village. You don't have to wait until July to post in the challenge. If I remember correctly it has something to do with how many posts you have or have started. Can't remember which. Maybe someone with better memory will come on and correct me.

    Did you try to post?
Bank of America is THE godfather of Hell with Wells Fargo running neck and neck. When the world ends the only things that will be left are cockroaches, Walmart, Wells Fargo and Bank of America. Not necessarily in that order. The order remains to be seen.

Thanks for the welcome. Yes I did and you may be correct. I think I need to have ten posts first. I don't want to spam so if I don't make ten posts until July that's alright too.

You got it!!! That's it. Now I remember. 10 posts. Don't worry about feeling like you're spamming. Everyone goes thru it when they start. Just find 10 things and make a comment of some sort. No one will say anything

    Welcome Mike.

I live in the DC area which is pretty pricey, but not as bad a New York City. My income is a lot above the average income in the US, but it is still below average for the DC area.

I agree that cost of living can drive frugality. Frugality can look a bit difference for people in high cost of living areas though. I still find lots in common with people here though.
