Default I got a Pressure Canner!

Woo-Hoo!!I bought a pressure canner!! I was at Walmart with the hubby ( he was returning a battery), and there was a Presto Pressure Canner there so I bought it! $68.00. It's a basic weighted gauge model. And I think it's good enough to get me started. Maybe later this year after we pay off the dental bill and the new dentures, I can get a nice top of the line model with no rubber gasket. wink.gif Walmart also had regular mouth jar lids $1.50 /12. I got 4 boxes, but I think I may go back and get lots more LOL I also bought 2 cases of quart jars. I have 2 cases of pints but no quarts. The whole thing with taxes came to $102. Which I think is a good price to get started canning. I'm sure I'd spend that much in a year for fruits and veggies at the store. And now, I need to start setting aside an amount of money from the grocery money every pay period and buy jars and lids to get them stocked up. wink.gif

You guys are great! Such an inspiration! I will have to wait on a pressure cooker, at least until you all start sharing all the great stuff you are putting up.

I have to do the dehydrating for now, but would love to hear what you all are canning and how you feel about the different methods. I know variety is the spice of life as they say!!

Let me know how you like it. I saw the same one in my walmart too. Couldn't find a price on it though!

I picked up some lids and jars as well. Have fun canning!
