    Default Has anyone ever frozen........

the crescent rolls that come in a tube........(but taken them out of the tube to freeze, of course)

It has been too hot to have the oven on and I was thinking about taking them out of the tube........flatten them and stacking them - ........and then put them in a food saver bag? Think this would work?
Think I should put wax paper between each one? I was thinking that they would probably come apart like frozen bread does....maybe not.

I want to keep them flat for what I am going to use them for later....so don't want them rolled up in the crescent. And if I don't get them out of my refrig...............they are going to start leaking........think they are close to exp. date.

REALLY? You left them in the tube and they didn't expand it and bust it open when they froze?

How long will they keep 'in the tube'.........were they dry when you used them after freezing?

Maybe I will experiment and do one IN the tube........see if it works...I have about 4 of them!

    Nope they were fine..
I only shopped once a month then and had no choice.. They came out fine and never burst. Didn't taste any different than the ones I made from the fridge. I'd put some in the fridge and some in the freezer after shopping and at the end of the month we'd use the ones from the freezer..

I put them ALL in the freezer today...........in the tube.

Was in a hurry and they were in my way in the refrig.

Will let you know how they do..........they could be in there for over a month by the time we cool enough to have the oven on.

Yes..........this is super good to know as I would use a lot more of them if I could freeze them, as that means buying them on sale..........they are expensive here and rarely go on a good sale.

They are fun to 'experiment with'............put jam in them........but hot dogs in them.........I even have a dessert that is made with them.

Interesting. I didn't know you could freeze them in the tube. I might have to try this. I've thrown away expired ones before that was in the fridge!

That's why I had to try it.. All I know is it worked for me. I took is out of the freezer and put it in the fridge, when it felt thawed I used it, usually the next dinner..

I'm just a freak about anything expired. I won't touch it.

I have a lotta food ickys and that is one of the biggest ones.. Another is, I wont eat anything (potluck, etc.) that someone made unless I know what their kitchen/house looks like..

I also wont use a glass in anyones home unless it was rinsed out with hot water in front of me, so I usually come with my own drink so not to offend as much.. Anyone that knows me well, already knows it..
