Snow in Northern NY
I personally don't think it's very impressive...we've gotten more. I can't believe they cancelled EVERYTHING for this. The only thing that makes me go WOW! is the size of our snowbanks and the drifts that formed in the driveway:
Hip-deep drifts in the driveway between my van & the house
Snowdrifts on the neighbor's back steps
Snowbanks on our side porch (dining room door). The railing is taller than I am, I'm 5'7"...so imagine how high the snowbanks & snowdrifts are. All the snow on the porch is from drifts.
Notice the front? That tree is about 5 feet high where the branches start. That's how high our snowbanks are.
And this is what dh looked like when he was done snowblowing this afternoon
And yes, my camera's date is off

I love my husband. I was out with the snowblower earlier clearing the 1000 ft driveway so he could drive in after working in it all day trying to deliver mail. Now he's out there doing the neighbors driveway & finishing up what fell since I did that & more. He was up before work snowblowing too. He looks so tired and I just have to say he's all mine and works so hard for us & I'm so lucky to have him.
Were you out there in your pretty new hat shoveling too Heather? Lots of snow here.

That's an insane amount of snow! I hope you are staying warm & safe, Heather.
Last night we got some snow & ice here (not anywhere near as much as you) and everything is closed. I drove all the way downtown for my dr's apt today and there was a sign on the door about being closed "because of the weather". First of all, a call would have been nice and second of all, if I can get there they can.Oh well, here's hoping things normalize soon!

Yankeemom, I thought that we've gotten more snow in the past, everything was closed here in Central NY. I can't leave the apartment, because my car is almost completely buried under the snow. My fiance says when he gets home from graduate classes tomorrow he will dig it out. I might try to dig it out a little before he gets home and then let him finish the task. Our balcony is all snowed in again too. I have to shovel it tomorrow, we are all responsible for shoveling our own balconies in the winter. I think there is a fear that the weight of the snow will collapse the balcony. (Makes me feel really safe while I am shoveling it off, adding to the weight on the balcony
).

Same here Heather. Jack went out earlier today a few times and cleared a path for the outside kitties we feed and also down to the cars. With the wind it has all blown back in. I'm sure he will NOT be a happy camper when he hets up this morning. LOL
