I'm on my first pregnancy right now-in my 27th week. I didn't start getting any sickness til I was around 2 months(I had to go back and fig it out cause initially I though I had the flu cause everyone else did so I was treating it w soup/crackers/7up/sherbet etc...lol)...reg crackers were ok for me, but I found out cheese crackers(like cheese-its or cheese nips) were my friend for the first so many months after I started getting nauseous. Try to keep a box w you at all times...esp when you get up first thing.

Thanks everyone! Unfortunately, after I let everyone know I was pregnant I got a terrible throat infection. The doctor ran a test for type A strep and I didn't have that. The wouldn't give me any medicine since I'm pregnant. He told me I could take ibuprofin for the pain. This is worse than just about anything I've gone through. The pain is finally easing up a little now on day 6. I've been totally wiped out. I don't have the strength to do anything. My poor husband is having to take care of everything around here.

Anyway, thanks for all the excitement about us being pregnant. I am always in need of new people to squeal in excitment with.

I thought you weren't supposed to take ibuprofen...At the hospital they told me only regular tylenol. Anyway, I hope you feel better soon!

With your doctors permission you can take ibuprofen until 28 or 30 weeks. I had always heard not to take ibuprofen also.

First of congrats on finally getting pregnat.
Secondly, based on how far along you were when you first posted this, we may be due with in a few day's of each other. I had my first dr.s appointment Wed. and was listed as 7weeks and 1 day.

Congrats again. Take care of yourself. BTW, if the iron in prenatal vitamins is not a friend to you and makes you feel even more sick, take childrens vitamins. I do Flinstones and take one in the morning and one at night for the same amount of folic acid that are in the other vitamins.

It also helps to take the vitamin w food in your stomach and to take it at night so it will digest while you are sleeping. I got less heartburn this way and was told by fam doctor(oh and it's in the what to expect book also) to do this.
