Canning cherries. Cherry pies are in the freezer and ready for baking, made cherry salsa and cherry muffins. They are still coming!!!!Have also already picked our first batch of strawberries. I froze them. Our neighbor came by and brought us two gallon size bags of fish fillets- I froze them for a fish fry later this summer.Went to several garage sales this morning and found windows and some hardware. We also bought two month each supply of dehydrated foods.Everything is in one bucket and it is easy to store.Has a 25 years shelf life. Love that.
They had a sale at Sam's. It has been a nice day here!

walked a ton today. bought disinfecting wipes and 100 count bandaids for $1 each to restock first aid kit. took dog out with me, she's a real priss so i'm trying to offset her more ridiculous habbits a bit. (wants to be carried to pee spots on her walks!) found out we have wild strawberries and black berries in our yard. hoping to be able to gather them this summer. yanked off sticks from the tree for some much needed plant stakes.

I was at Shaw's yesterday and they were remarking their prices some items went up as much as 15 cents so I need to plant as much as I can and stock pile so I can fight back against rising prices!!

Hubbie picked a bunch of strawberries so I guess I'm making strawberry jam today. I also ordered a case of hydrogen peroxide which should be here tomorrow. I'm picking away at my "needs" list a little at a time. I'm also clearing out stuff we don't use & will never use to make more room for stuff we do & will use.

I turned in my swagbucks a month ago and used them at Amazon to buy a paper log briquette maker. We shred any papers with any personal information on them and started saving the shredded paper. We made our first paper bricks yesterday. They measure 3" x 3" x 8 3/4". For paper they are heavy and solid! I think it will take at least 2-3 more days for them to dry out enough for us to try burning them.

Transferring shelf stable recipes onto cards into second recipe box. Finding more recipes and keeping on trying them (about once a week). Picked and shucked 2 pounds of peas this morning - one in freezer. Nice amount of kale is ready, been picking twice already. Have 3.5 days of grab and go food - with menu - set up in one tote. Am shooting for a weeks worth for my family, need finish this during weekend. My "teenager" chicks are doing well, despite the heat.

Yesterday I bought 4-100 count boxes of Bunn coffee filters, 2 45 ct boxes of trash bags, 2 50 ct boxes of envelopes & 2 boxes of gallon sized freezer Ziplock bags. Very good deals on all of it.

I put up pickled okra today. This summer I have put squash, zucchini, beets, beet greens, pickles, zucchini relish, and zucchini marmalade up from my garden. I have chickens so I always have eggs in the refrigerator.

Niko, if you're interested, there are lots of recipes for homemade Shake N Bake. Stuff like that is easy to throw together and you probably already have all the ingredients. Cheaper, and you can control the salt in it too.
