Exclamation Another update on Quiltermom and hurricane Frances

I can't imagine living through this and wondering what the outcome is going to be. Received this in an e-mail this morning.

For those watching this on the news, our house is on the coast between
Melbourne and Vero Beach. Since we moved in May, the town we live in is
tiny so you won't hear it mentioned by name most likely. We have seen
reporters from the Weather Channel in Palm Bay. (You'll see a Golden Corral
or Dunkin Donuts sign behind them or possibly Jameson Inn). At that
location they are just inside Palm Bay - one side of the road is the end of
Melbourne and the other side is the beginning of Palm Bay. We live about 12
or so miles southeast of where those reporters are (closer to the ocean than
    they are).

We are still on path to take the direct hit. Pray for us that our house
does not flood. We could be getting 25+ inches of rain there. We are not
in a flood zone and therefore do not have flood insurance (none of our
friends do either). If the house floods, we are not covered. The only way
we are covered is if a tree falls on the house (which is kind of what we're
expecting unfortunately), a tornado hits the house, the roof blows off, or
the windows or doors are blown in. (We boarded the windows and doors, but
flying debris could still bust through possibly). In all those instances
our hurricane ins. covers us. It has a high deductable (we have no choice
in that - it's a standard amount for everyone), but it's better than
nothing. Pray that if we do have damage that it will be damage that is
    covered by our hurricane ins.

Our little guy is going nuts cooped up in a hotel room so pray for him as well. I
am going to try to find somewhere fun to take him today, but this is a small
town and there's not much to offer. We are just thrilled to be blessed with
    getting a room.

I think the library is closed tomorrow so I won't be able to update then. I
hope the info I've given you helps you understand where we live though as
    you watch the news.

    Thanks for your prayers.

Continued prayers and good thoughts please.

We've been watching it on the news this morning. I'll continue to keep them in my thoughts.

What a terrible experience. I'm glad they are in a safe place and I sure hope if they have any damages that they are covered.

I'm glad you have a dry room and are safe at the moment. I'm sending good thoughts and hope you, your family and your home weather the hurricane without a scratch.

I've been away from the computer for the last couple of days. I hate to hear that QM is in the direct path. Dh watches the weather channel a lot right now and we just saw a clip with a reporter in Palm Bay and near the beach. It wasn't good.
I hope QM and family make it through unscathed (along with home as well....)
