How to store water?
I have saved a couple 2 liter bottles. I'd like to keep a few just incase full of water. I seem to remember vaguely having to treat water for storage.

When my children were small and went to daycare, we used to bring in unrinsed bleach bottles, only the non-perfumed type tho. They hold up well when stored in hot places where some water bottles tend to explode. There is just enough bleach in an unrinsed bottle to keep it clean and healthy.

I have tried reusing gallon sized water jugs, but the plastic is so flimsy that they would always end up leaking.
Now I use the bottles that ds's apple juice comes in. They are a nice, thick plastic. I wash them in the dishwasher (it's still hard to completely get the apple smell out sometimes though) and store water in them for the dogs and cat (and us if need be).
I buy my vinegar at Sam's in gallon containers so I use those to store water for flushing the toilets.
