Default Pumpkin growing in my rose garden!!

I have roses lining the front of the house covered by pebbles. Last year I did a big fall display of hay bales and pumpkins in front of them. Seems one of the sqirrels must have left some seeds in my roses because I have a vine abour 5 feet long curling out onto the grass and a pumpkin about 4 inches around growing. It looks so perfectly seasonal!!

How great is that! I bet it looks lovely and you'll have some pumpkins too.

Missy, pumpkins are easy to grow from the seeds in a bought pumpkin. Save them from a really delicious one. You can dry them and save them for a few months before you sow the seed.

We had the same thing happen here... Where we had carved the pumpkins last year, there is a pumpkin growing with a pumpkin that is turning orange!! We--- I mean the kids obviously didn't clean up very well last year..

you don't even have to dry the seeds. LOL

last autumn when my dd's pumpkin started to get soft (we had already canned about 10 gallons of pumpkin, and had 5 gallon jars of pumpkin seeds roasted) .. we put it off the side of the steps for the squirrels. in the spring i raked the area, and there were still pumpkin guts out there. fast forward about three weeks, we had vines. now we have about 15 pumpkins "extra" over what we purposely planted. it's neat!
