Using a pumpkin for pie
We bought a pumpkin to use as a jack-o-lantern, but one side has started to rot before we've had the chance to carve it. Can I still use the parts that haven't rotted yet to make pie?

I probably would not. The bacteria that caused it to rot could be all through the flesh
I know it stinks. One of mine rotted (and fell off the window and made a mess) just yesterday.
