Pumpkin
This may sound like I a stupid question, but what is the difference between canned pumpkin and canned pumpkin puree. I have a few recipes that call for the canned pumpkin puree and I haven't been able to find it in our area for the past 2 years. I used to be able to find it no problem.
Is there a way to use the canned pure pumpkin and turn it into pumkin puree? I know I can make it with fresh pumpkin but I haven't had the time to do that.
TIA

this might sound weird.....but I think that puree is thinner than regular canned pumpkin...do you think that if you add a little water to the regular pumpkin that you might thin it to "puree consistency"?Just a thought

Not a stupid question, I've never really thought about it and think you can use either of the canned stuff interchangeably.

Thank you. I will have to try it both ways...I still have no clue why our local stores stopped caring

I was thinking maybe they are same thing only someone said it different. You know, how in some areas people say soda for soda pop, and some say pop. But then I could be wrong.
