    Question couple of questions?

I do not know how to quilt, but I am planning on learning this fall. I have no fabric whatsoever, so I am going to be purchasing the fabric during the summer with the lessons given at the top in mind, (thanks by the way, they are very informative ). My questions are; Will we have instructions on how to do the batting and the back part of the quilt? or have I missed that somewhere? Do you use a sewing machine or do it by hand or both? And the most important question, is it really hard to do? I am just learning the sewing thing, still a lot of room for improvement there

How did I miss this thread?

Will we have lessons for batting and the back part of the quilt? Yes we will. I'll be doing more tutorials and then later in the year, will give a complete tutorial on finishing the quilt.

Do you use a sewing machine, do it by hand or both I use a sewing machine to do the top of the quilt (the quilt blocks), but I hand quilting the finished quilt top. But its your choice as to how you do it. I find it much easier to handle to hand quilt it.

Is it really hard to do? No its not hard to do at all. Just take your time, don't rush to get it finished and when you have questions, ask. I started the tutorial with easy blocks and each block builds upon the last block I've done. All you need are a few good tools, 100% cotton material and the will to learn and your on your way to quilting.

Midwest mom, I was where you are a couple of blocks ago! I am a new sewer, and never had quilted before. I followed CJ's directions on fabric and making the blocks. They are easy to follow and if you get confused, either post it or pm her. I had to ask a few questions, but now having done a couple I follow along just fine. Good luck!
