I am not a married guy, but my father was, and he never wore a ring because he worked around heavy machinery a lot and was always concerned about it getting caught in something.

My hubby wears one. He shouldn't because of working on cars ... it is too easy to get it caught but he can't get it off!! He cracked his knuckle after it was on...the knuckle grew back together weird and now he can't get the ring off.

My ex hubby was a chef and did not wear one. He decided that meant he was not actually married and decided to have an affair. (I had just finished putting him through culinary shcool). I guess in the end it was for the best because I met my wonderful ds who never takes his ring off!
BTW, after I had my 2nd ds my wedding rings kept breaking my finger out in a wierd rash. I have to take them off at home and only wear them when I go out......

My husband doesn't wear one. He did for the first thirty years or so and then it broke. It's just not a priority for either of us that he replace it.
I sometimes don't wear mine either. Again, it doesn't matter to either of us. It's a symbol, it's not a relationship.

My husband doesn't wear his. It would be too easy for it to get caught on something at work, he carries his on his key ring.
On a side note I don't wear mine neither. It didn't fit after I had our first child. I was wearing an anniversary ring my husband bought me a few years ago, but due to recent weight loss that ring is now to big and my original ring is still too small.

Neither of us wear ours.
Me, because my hands just don't seem to be the same size since having kids.
Him: because he is a manufacturing engineer and he likes his fingers too much to have the ring be the cause for losing one.

My husband wears his (he's a software geek) and I wore mine until I went into the hospital last month. They wanted it removed and we had to cut it off. My engagement ring had lost its stone so we're going to get the two of them repaired, welded together and made bigger, all at once.

I don't and haven't for the last 15 years...always worried I would scratch a patient or get someting nasty in it.
DH doesn't wear one due to his job.

Well I'm not married, but my parents haven't worn theirs for 10 years or so. They stopped wearing jewelry for religious reasons.

Vigilant, I've never heard of not wearing jewelry for religious reasons. Do you mind explaining that to me? I'm curious now.
Anywhoo, I always wear my ring when I leave the house, but I usually take it off when I get home since I'm doing dishes, cleaning, etc.
Whether or not Zac wears his is hit or miss. He didn't wear his wedding band to Iraq, but he wore just a solid gold band, we call it his 'field ring'. Now that he is home and working as a police officer, Zac and I both prefer that he doesn't wear his wedding band to work.

DH has never worn his. He just isn't a jewelery kind of guy, and I don't really care either way. Mine have gotten too big over the years (as I've been losing weight) and so I wear mine sometimes, but I go through periods in the summer, where I don't wear one at all.
DH started to argue last summer when I didn't wear mine for a while, but he stopped himself, becuase he knew he couldn't argue since his hasn't been on his finger since our wedding day!
