This sounds mean but each time your parents complain about the truck ask them to tell it to your sister as she was the one who helped pick out the vehicle, NOT YOU. Then each time you hear it from your parents, let your sister know so she can get it from both sides.

UPDATE: My dad is in the hospital. My mom does not feel comfortable driving the truck so it sits parked on the street because the truck is soo big until it will not fit in their garage. So now mom is using taxis to get around town. AAAUUUGGGHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How is your dad doing?
Have your mom get rides from your sister.
Sometimes it is okay to be an only child.

Update...my parents are making payments on the truck...and now ( drum roll please).....they have decided to sell their paid off house and to have a new house built in a new state. Oh by the way of course the new house is going to be larger than their old house and ALOT more expensive so they are getting a mortgage to cover the difference.
They still have no income besides Dad's small pension and social security.
I learned from the truck and I am keeping my mouth shut about the entire deal!!!Blessed and Highly Favored!!!!

How long have they had it? Is it too late for them to return it? I've lived in a few states where you could return a vehicle for any reason within one week of purchase.
My goodness, when I was working full-time and had a 45-minute each way commute, I chose to pay cash for an 11 year old car. Is it pretty? No. Is it a hot rod? No. Does it get amazing gas mileage? No. But it runs reliably and gets me where I need to go, and I don't owe anyone anything for it. I had a coworker who needed to replace her car around the same time and she chose to get a brand new Toyota, then complained about her car payment being almost $400 per month and how she was having to take on extra shifts to make it. A family member of mine constantly goes on about how broke they are, yet recently bought a $40,000 car because it gets great gas mileage. Really? REALLY?
