4 Tbsp. butter
4 Tbsp. flour
2 c. milk
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 lb. grated cheese, (2 cups)
1. Melt the butter, blend in the flour.
2. Add cold milk and salt.
3. Heat and stir until thickened.
4. Add cheese. Stir until cheese is melted.
* Use any cheese you prefer. I like to use cheddar for broccoli and Monterey Jack for white cheese sauce.

reminds me of learning to make white sauce in 8th grade HOme Ec. I still make this sauce for mac & cheese. So much better than the blue box stuff.Make America Kind Again.

I wish I still had some of those recipes I was taught. Like the pizza sauce and certain cookies. My home ec. teacher was gold.
