Talking Garage Sale Season is Coming!!!

I absolutely love to go to yard sales, garage sales and flea markets and I can't wait for the season to begin.

I also can't wait, because I plan on having a sale myself this year...going to clean out the rest of my stuff I've been hoarding for way too long.

Anybody else excited about garage sale season besides me?

I love garage saling, but we live ina hard to find area, and our bylaws don't allow us to put up signs. So for the traffic I get, not worth my time. But I do LOVE garage saling! I clothe my kids that way. Love to remake the finds into real treasures.

I'm excited because we had a garage sale/moving sale three weeks ago because we were moving into a smaller home to reduce our expenses, and we had a lot that we could'nt take with us, or didn't want to because of storage and space limitations.

We made $840.00! $500 of that was for BF's old racing bicycle and tools. But still it was great to get rid of a lot of stuff, and it was a fun morning. Towards the end of the morning we were practically giving things away, but whatever didn't sell, I was planning to drop off at the Salvation Army anyway.

I do love going to garage sales, too. But now, I don't really need anything, and I am on a really tight budget, so I need to stay away if possible. But I do love to buy paperback books at garage sales for 50¢ each.

Flea Markets are a blast to go to, too! My parents live out of town, and when they have their quarterly Flea Market at their Fairgrounds, she gives me gas money to go with her, and some spending $$ too!

I love garage sales. Went to my first of the season last weekend at a church. Got a brand new - in the box - waffle iron for $5, and a new meat slicer for $10. (DH has been wanting one forever)
I think we will all have to be careful this year with the gas prices.
My garage sale shopping will be limited to areas I have to go anyway.
I plan on going to a few - even tho I need nothing. Always on the look for great deals for holidays!
    Everbody have FUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I love to go to them but honestly have way too much 'stuff' now as it is. I'm thinking I should have a huge one myself....but probably won't.....

Enjoy the good sales near ya. They are soooo much fun~!

I'm looking forward to the season. I go to yard sales with a particular purpose in mind. I also keep an eye out for good deals but I don't buy too much stuff. I don't want my house cluttered and it's a waste of money. With gas prices I'll be extra cautious. I don't want to ride around without a purpose, waste my time or money.

I am also excited about the start of garage sale season!
BUT like everyone else watching the price of gas closely and probably won't go too far from my own neighborhood like I used to.
No plans to give it up though.. LOL!

I just knew there had to be plenty of us out there !!! I too go with a purpose in mind, generally clothes and stuff for my grandkids. I figure whatever I pick up helps their parents out. I generally don't traverse too far from home anyway and people around here love to have sales so I am good to go.

I won't buy clothes at lawn sales.
I'm really picky there. My clothes may be bought on clearance, or sales but they are new. I can't wear something someone else has worn... ( I know I'm weird , but it gives me the willies )
I do and will be going this year looking for 3 more crockpots, 2 more bread
machines, and I need a meat slicer.
I want to find some sheets for backing to quilt tops ( for our use only )
I will look for material to make cloth napkins and tableclothes.
With gas prices I will have to hit more not less for what I need.

I also love to find deals at garage sales and flea markets! I don't go that often, unfortunately, for one reason or another.

I don't usually go with a purpose but I do try to find clothes and books for the kids and miscellaneous items to decorate the house with.

I had a sale 2 springs ago and sold quite a bit but I still have so much packed in my garage.

I love garage sales. This yr we dont need anything though. We are going to have one of our own. We live where there is a 100 mile yard sale that starts about 30 miles from us or so. I went two days in a row last yr. Up the Mississippi and down the other side and didnt hit all of it. With gas prices this yr I dont think I will be doing that,
