Flat Felled Seams
You need 5/8? seam allowance to make Flat Felled Seams.
With wrong sides together, offset your edges by ??. Pin in place.

Sew your seam with a 5/8” seam allowance using the ‘bottom’ fabric as your guide.

Press the seam allowance over to your seam, covering up the ‘short’ part of the seam.

Finished Flat Felled Seam. This seam is like the seam on the outside pant leg of your jeans. It encases the raw edges to finish the seam off.

I made these seams on my tote bag on the sides. You make these first instead of the bottom seam first. The first seam is easy, the second side seam is a little tricky getting it under the machine.
I started sewing, then stopped and started turning the tube inside out.

Sew down a little further and turn the tube of fabric completely inside out, complete sewing down to the end of the seam.
This just takes patience and sew slowly making sure you have only the fabric you want under your presser foot .
