Thumbs up I started! My De-Clutter Challenge.

I hope you don't mind me doing this here? But I have somehow slipped into the worst physical and mental mess ever and although I'm not a child, I just don't have even the motivation to sort it all out 'just for me' (OMG ~ how bad is that!)

So I'm 'shameing' myself into action! (I can't believe I'm doing this!!!)

So if nobody objects (because this could get ugly) here is the start of my own personal challenge.

I have made a start, which is at least a plus I guess.

I am totally embarrased and uterly ashamed to admit this was my 'bedroom' this morning!!!!!!! (And I'm surposed to sleep in this 'sanctury' without being depressed!)

Here it is now Which isn't really even now how I want it (the huge toy is a present waiting to leave the house, but I don't want MY kids playing with it)

Still it's a HUGE improvement on a few hours ago!

Bev, how did you get a pictue of my bedroom before my decluttering started. Your not alone girl. I'm telling you, evert flat top had something on it, so you don't need to be embarrassed.

I'm glad you've started with your bedroom. Its the most important room in our home and one where we seek refuge and find rest. Keep working on that room until you get it exactly as you want it.

Your doing GREAT!!!! I know you can do this, look what you've accomplished so far.

One little tip - take the garbage out immediately. For some reason, it seems to pop out of those bags and come right back in. I found that when I had a bag full, out it went. If it was going to goodwill, it went in our vehicle. I tied it twice so dh couldn't look in the bags.

YOUR DOING GREAT AND I'M SO VERY, VERY PROUD OF YOU!!!!!!

I considered posting a pic of my most cluttered are to et suggestions on what to do with the mess. You're very brave, Bev. I set a goal to clean up one room a day and I can't manage to get that done.

Thank you SO much for the support ~ I REALLY, REALLY mean that! This is such a big thing for me. It has been literally destroying my life for SO long now! I really don't know how it got this bad or why I haven't done anything about it?

I have to admit I thought I was brave too LOL or stupid! It actually IS very hard to admit that you live this way ~ especially when the media portrays people's 'perfect' houses they live in with about 12 children and a farmyard full of animals and it STILL looks like something out of a fairy story!

I know though that I need all the motivation I can get, I have 'tidied' before but that doesn't stay done, does it. And I really need to SIMPLIFY!

I'm going back upstairs now to get rid of that rubbish (Thanks C.J. ) It's still there! And really from past experience I should know better than that!

I really DO appreciate being allowed to share this mess, I do still find it embarrasing and shameful but whatever works now is OK with me.

Bev, don't be the least bit embarassed, like I told you before I have been slowly decluttering room by room so I know how it is! You are doing a great job and I am SO proud of you!! And the more you do (at your own pace) the BETTER you will feel, honest!!!

I am fighting the same issue right now with two areas in my house. My bedroom (the closet in particular) and the laundry room. I have no idea why, but those two room seem to be the "catch all" rooms. I am working on it. In fact I was just alking about how horrible my closet is yesterday when I was talking with my buddy. I am so ashamed of how my rooms look. But I think I will be spending most of my free time cleaning these. Maybe I can post some before and after pics too.

Bev you have done a great job. I can't wait to follow along and get my house cleaned up too.
