Thumbs up Dreaming of that country produce

Well it's only a short time now before the arrival of spring And before you know it, the planting season will be upon us once again!

I love to stop at the fruit and veggie stands out here in the country, and love to go to the Saturday morning Farmers Market. All of the farmers from the country, pulling up to the market and unloading their trucks full of fresh flowers, produce and breads and homemade preserves, apple butter etc..........

Does anyone else look forward to the farm fresh produce and other goodies?

Thanks alot! Now my mouth is watering for Jersey corn and tomatoes. That's one thing that keeps me here in NJ is the summer produce. It's the best!

We cant plant our own garden this year because of health reasons. But I am looking forward to going to our local u-pick farm to pic corn, tomatoes etc.

Spring will be here before we know it. We are having a garden this year and I can't wait. Around here the older farmers plant potatoes on St. Patty's Day, so I better get a move on. I hope the snow is gone by then. lol

I think we will be waiting until around Easter time before we start planting.

Oh, just reading this thread is making me VERY homesick for my hometown in SC. The vegetables and fruit grown there by the old time farmers is sO MUCH better than what I can find here in NC. LOL!! I miss the days of being able to stop by a neighbor's house and going home with bag after bag of things fresh out of the garden!! Now I am drooling over here so I think I better end my reply!!

    Hugs,
    Debbie
