Smile What was the last simple pleasure you enjoyed

    Tell us about it.

Mine has got to be watching my kids outside last night watching dh letting off firecrackers and them holding sparklers that a friend had brought for them. Watching their eyes light up what so sweet.

Yesterday, I mowed the lawn (good exercise too!), it was pretty long..and was lush green....it was a beautiful early fall late afternoon, the sun was out, just a hint of the leaves changing....I didn't bag the clippings so they were laying on the lawn in rows.

DH was washing the truck and hosing off the driveway.

Whe we were done we sat on the deck and enjoyed the time and the conversation and the smell of freshly mowed grass..

Last Sunday was my first day off-no work, no dss, no social obligations or major thing that had to be handled-probably in 8 weeks, we went to a wonderful little festival in a local waterfront park, me dh and my best friend. Our friend's band was playing, the salt air and a cool drink-I didn't want it to end!!!

I know old thread (really old... like 11 years!) but I love the idea and didnt want to start a new one.

One of my favorite simple pleasures is sleeping in on a Saturday morning, all cuddled under the covers with a cup of coffee reading my email and the news.... maybe watching new You Tube videos. I actually do this virtually every Saturday morning.

every morning I sit on the patio with my coffee and the furbabies..listening to the birds chirp or watching the butterflies.
no phone, no company, just quiet time it is my favorite part of the day...

Great thread. Lately, I've been enjoying bath time with Mini. I get in with her and she laughs and plays and splashes a bit. Then Dh bundles her in a towel, and we go to our room, give her a massage, put on her pjs, cuddle, laugh together and finally put her to bed. We spend a nice 30 minutes of uninterrupted family quality time and I love it!

Simple pleasure......nothing can relax me faster and make me smile faster than my pets. ( well my nieces do but they don't live with me) At this point in my life it is rescue kitties and since I have been a " foster failure" as we call it four times I have 4 kitties. They all have such different personalities and if you were to watch me walk from room to room in my house you would see at least a couple follow me at any given time. It is unconditional love at its finest which is a very simple pleasure!

Having coffee with DH on our back patio this morning...I love spending that time with him laughing and talking before he goes to work
Of course, any time with the furbabies is special and awesome...especially when they are trying to convince me that they NEED more food!

In summer I enjoyed swimming with my DD in the river up the road. The water was so warm and so free!

Handing my friend's two year old a little cup with some oats in it and watching him throw them at the chickens (was supposed to be "tossing to", but, you know, he is two). He gets the biggest kick out of feeding the chickens.

I lingered in bed this morning with my soft, purring kitty, letting him touch my face with his soft paws, then I rode my bike to the secondhand shops, bought a dress, a flowerpot and a painting for about $12. I love simple.
