Could peace on earth be any more hellish? Not a lot of goodwill here in my neck of the woods. The ex refused to discuss access with me the past 3 times I have tried to talk with him over the past few weeks and proceeded to make his own plans for the kids. When I tried to talk with him he told me "how it was going to be" and refused to hear my thoughts. So the kids and I made plans and decided to have a nice Christmas lunch together before they went to their dad's.

WHOOPS! Now he is just livid because he had other plans and I did not comply. We are currently in court hammering out a legal agreement but as of now there is no agreement for holidays. In the past we have managed to agree on something. This year he just decided to steamroll me.

This is the biggest nightmare. The police are involved because my ex threatened me with physical harm. His girlfriend called to yell at me. We have a good cop and a bad cop. We have the ghost of Christmas past, present and future, and it was so bad I was kind of scared to go out with my little one to put reindeer food on the lawn.

    Christmas shouldn't be like this.

Thanks for listening to me vent.

Yep, it has been miserable. Three police interventions later, the kids are finally with their dad now. His girlfriend appeared at 3 different windows to give me the finger when I dropped the kids off. The epitome of class. I waved all five of my fingers at her. My ex's mother called me sobbing telling me she thought better of me, woe betide her poor sweet son who did not get his daughters on Christmas morning.Lest my audience be confused this is the poor sweet son who threatened to rip my head off and do something obscene with it on Christmas Eve.

How can such trashy people wreck your day like this? Egad, to think I was part of that family!

just try to keep your calm ~ if they must make fool's of themselves - try to stand tall ~ you can do it!! You are better than that -- it's a shame though that he can't behave like a civilized adult!

I wish you a very happy holiday! Just remember that we are here when you need to vent!

I am sorry you are having such a rough time with your ex. I do hope you make the judge aware that he threatened you, if you have not already.

Definately make sure the judge gets copy of the police reports. This is the first year for me that the holidays weren't hellish. The ex signed papers to terminate his parental rights (he was tired of paying child support) so I had my kids free and clear (lol). I also didn't have my family around (favorite game- who can be the most negative). It has taken 17 years to get to have a nice Christmas so I can tell you it will get better!

Well, I did it. I saw my lawyer and I asked for a restraining order. I just do not want to deal with his threats and harrassment anymore. We go to court again next Tuesday and the request for the restraining order has been added to the agenda.

I also informed the Children's Lawyer about the threats and behavior over Christmas. I suppose despite the stress and nastiness, this will help my custody case, since he showed all and sundry what a jerk he could be.
