Why doesn't replying to threads change my number of posts?
When I check my stats, then number of posts hovers around the same number, only changing when I start a new thread, not when I reply to an existing one. Why is that?

I think its a combination of which forum you're posting in (some don't count for post counts, I believe) and also I think the post counts are only updated periodically, so it may take a few mins for your post count updates to kick in.

Posting in General chat and the welcome wagon will not increase your post count.

Also, many people join simply to reach 15 posts to "advertise" without really contributing anything. This helps with that, too.
