I haven't seen anyone's Siggys or Avatars in a long time, I turned them both off. I found it annoying to have to scroll through a very long post consisting of the tickers, pictures, quotes, progress and goals and such to read a reply a few words long. I do like having the option to not see them, I am on dial up and I am slow enough as it is.

I'm not sure if you know we have a stripped down version of the forums as an option. On the bottom left of the forums is a dropdown menu, you can choose plain.

I always signed up for challenges and then forgot what I signed up for. Since I decided this year I was going to get serious, I posted each challenge in my siggie immediately.

People's siggies and challenges are a real inspiration to me and I would hate to have to go to the blogs to see them.

However, I did change them to "pink" so you can tell the difference.

It took me two hours to get a single line looking the way I wanted. Don't worry about mine getting too long or for that matter ever changing.

I also enjoy reading people's challenges and progress. I guess it can get out of hand, but if its organized neatly or color-coded or whatever, even text isn't that bad. I guess its a matter of opinion? I hope you don't hate my siggy, Greebo

Hmm, I never had a problem with anyone's siggy. I guess I never thought much of it. I will say though, I think patticakes has a very nice siggy and it's easy on the eyes.

Thanks for the reminder! I'm going to go check on mine to see how long it is.

There have been a couple of signatures where I've wondered how they got all that text in there.

I think sigs are a good way for people to stay on track and also just to show a little bit of individuality... that said it isn't long sigs that bother me, its the wide ones. When pics in a sig make the page so wide that I have to scroll over to read an entire post that is distracting.
