Live feed doesn't recognized ignored threads/forums.

But I suspect Live feed isn't something someone who's only here for 20-30 mins will be using.

    Gabe:

We're in luck - the Ignore Thread feature exists on its own page - which means you can put a link to "Ignore Thread" on any template you want.

Example: (DO NOT CLICK OR YOU WILL IGNORE THIS THREAD) https://www.frugalvillage.com/forums/...hread&t=129046
    PHP Code:
    http://www.frugalvillage.com/forums/cis_ignore_thread.php?do=ignorethread&t=129046
t=129046 represents the thread id. The thread ID is available pretty much anytime you look at a thread. So if you modify the threadbit template and add the above link but with $thread[threadid] replacing where I currently have 129046...
    Something like this...
    PHP Code:
    <a target="new" href="cis_ignore_thread.php?do=ignorethread&t=$thread[threadid]"><img class="inlineimg" src="$stylevar[imgdir_button]/ignore.gif" alt="Ignore this thread" border="0" /></a
That might do the trick - it should but you may need to tweak it a bit - I don't have the latest version of the vBulletin code available to refer to.

Status says you're adding water to the aquarium. Multi-tasking?

    Ok Implemented Greebo's hack.
You should see the option to ignore a thread without opening it in search in forum section and anywhere where you get a threadstatus icon posted.

You are right about the live view. Hmmm....
    Needs a little more tweaking.

There is a typo in the pop up afterward that tells you to go to your usercp 'do' remove it.

I don't know if pointing that out is helpful or hurtful. I've had a revelation about myself this week that is making me question the appropriateness of everything I say now.

Thanks! appreciate it. That typo has been there for a few years actually. (I just fixed it thanks to you)

I tried out the pretty red X's and fell in love. (With negativity? oh, well. Grumpy old lady, I guess.)

I appreciate this. Opening a thread and clicking to ignore it isn't much of a burden when I'm on FV on my downtime at work. We have a wonderfully fast wireless - well, fast most of the time. But when I am at home I have pokey old dial up, and every page I load, or every increase in the size of the new posts list, does increase the time it takes to get around, sometimes very substantially.

This is also why on the challenges I do participate in, I rarely open them at home. They become so long it just takes too long to load. Sometimes longer than the computer is willing to wait.

So, thumbs up on the streamlining - at least when I'm home!

We'll be changing it to either text or a less annoying button.
