Default Would someone teach me how to pretty up my links?

~I've been trying to figure out how to post links that look like a title of what's linked, not a run on of www. blahblah8737%%83992 . whatever. But I'm failing miserably! It seems to be done automatically for some sites but others run on and on.
So if I wanted to post a link to https://www.frugalvillage.com/forums/...admission.html, how do I make it display as "Free Museum Admission" ?~

Next to the color choice is a globe looking thing with what looks like a side-ways 8 (or a chain link)

Type what you want the link to say, then highlight it and click the globe... a pop-up comes and you put the link address there.

    It should look like
    How To Make Toast

When you go to post a link click on the globe/earth icon with a chain link then paste your link in there. Once you hit OK it will show your link with the brackets around it but a portion of it will be hilighted - you can type whatever you want to appear there - the blue words that people click on to go visit your link.

    I hope that helps!

You type the wording that you want....

    Example:

    Happy Birthday to me.

Then you highlight those words. And then click the little world icon with the chain link underneath the smiley. And then type in the url/link.

    Happy Birthday to me

LadyV, I agree your recommendation works and is a good solution to the problem. I'm curious why it automatically changes for some but not for others. The change nuisance26 describes happens for me automatically, without selecting the hyperlink icon or entering text into a pop-up box. Is there also a global setting for this? Or is it somehow dependent on the sites we're linking to? Thanks for your help with this.

I do what Sara does but copy and paste the link in. Just learned to do this a month ago, lmao.

I wonder if us using different browsers matter here?

The system automates link to short friendly title. Sometimes it doesn't always work. Will check out

Ok it appears internal blog definitions are not working correctly.
I need to tweak some things. Thank for catching this nuisance!

    More work for me!

Meanwhile you can do it manually like the others suggested.
