    Default slow... to load?

Is this site slow to load?
We have high speed internet, and everywhere else I go....I have no problem.
Everytime I try to go anywhere on FV, it takes forever......
Is it the site or what?
I'm getting very frustrated. I'm trying to respond to some posts, but waiting forever for the pages to load.... think turtle speed.

I'm using IE 6.0 and it is slow because of the browser itself.

Try clearing your cache and cookies and see if that helps.

    Or

Go to you options and turn off the signatures and avatars and see if that helps.

I think we have Internet Explorer.
My computer is only 1 year old, so not sure of the version.

Firefox web browser | Faster, more secure, & customizable

Download and install and start using for EVERYTHING.

    IE is junk

I have the same problem with this site, and it's the only site I have a problem with unfortunately. I can only stand to read a thread or two before impatience takes me elsewhere.

I also have slow speed here, sometimes it takes several minutes for the home page to even load, then i may have to refresh it to get it to completely load.

Same here. Dial up at home almost impossible, but the high speed at work is bad too. I've stripped out everything I can and reduced the number of posts per page back to 10, and have done what Russ suggested. It helped some, but not much. I don't visit here as much because it is so aggravating. Sometimes I cannot post at all, because it times out before it loads. I dread having to go back a page. As with others, it's just this site. Everything else is ok.

Yep, same problems here, except pages don't usually 'time out' before they're loaded...maybe due to the high speed internet we have...and I use Firefox also...and I think we have Windows XP.
    BUT...it is VERY slow....
