Well, I don't know what thread y'all are talking about. (Now wouldn't it be embarrassing if it was one of mine?!?) Anyway, I don't think I would like doing the ignore thing. I'd always feel like I was missing out on something.

It's also really handy when there's a long thread you have absolutely no interest in. Then you can click ignore and poof it so you don't have to see it over and over again.

I wasn't thinking of any particular thread with regard to being able to ignore a thread that's controversial. I was just thinking about how often I have to resist the temptation to add my two cents when it's in opposition to popular opinion which often does not go over well here, and how much easier it is to keep my thoughts to myself if provocative thread titles aren't in my face repeatedly. I'm sure I'm not alone in that.

The way the old ignore feature worked, stuff wasn't gone for good, and you did have the option to go into your account and view ignored threads if you wanted to later.

I love hearing different opinions - How boring would life be if we all thought the same way - As long as comments are made without getting personal of course So please SD feel free to an opposite opinion, it would be welcome from my end anyway

I never thought of ignoring threads I wasn't interested in, that's an excellent idea.
