underlined words

I now have underlined words in reading posts. Is this something FV doing or am I getting spammed or getting a virus? I did click
on a word, came up as an advertisement. Anyone else??

They are ads. They've always been on the forums and the main section of the site, but were only viewable before for unregistered guests.

I've got them too. If you even come close to them with the mouse they bring up the ad...they're very annoying...thought it was just me.

It's not spam...they subscribed to Vibrant to further monetize the site. I agree...Vibrant is very annoying and intrusive...completely ruins my enjoyment of the forums.

But come on guys ~ this forum and site is FREE and we all love being here. I can't think of too many things in life that we are able to still get so much valuable information out of and have a great time doing it, without it costing us an arm and a leg.

Sara & Gabe have put a ton of work into the site and keeping this forum up and running for all of us. They are there when we have the slightest little issues or whims that need attention. I used to run a blog (without a forum) and I know what work they are and how time consuming they can be.

Yes, the ads are annoying but keep your mouse away from them and you won't have to close the ad boxes.

Personally I hope Sara & Gabe make a small mint from the ads. They deserve it at this point!

Ok, let me rephrase my last post. As soon as I made it and went into Real Time to watch the 'ticker' - I got an ad running across my screen for American Express. This one stopped in the middle of the screen and made me close it before I could go on.

I don't mind the underlined words because I can avoid them with my mouse. I don't even mind the banner ads running at the bottom of our posts because I can tune them out completely.

But please, oh please... don't let this site become full of pop-up ads that make you stop what you are doing and close them before you can go on....

For what it's worth, I use Firefox w/ AdBlock and I don't see any underlined words and no advertisements. And of course, never any pop-ups. It's worth using if those things are keeping you from fully enjoying and utilizing this site.

So that is where I am getting all the strange e-mails? ok, going to block and change e-mail.

I get to paranoid when it comes to strange e-mails and where did I get it from?
