Would the ignore option work for this? (Try it and let me know!)

In the upper right hand corner of the community, click on "settings".

On the new page that opens, scroll down to "Edit Ignore List" in the left side navigation, under "My Account".

Add the exact username you want to ignore, and then click "okay".

I don't know if it works to ignore someone who starts a thread. I think at least the title of the thread will show up, and that's the problem.

The option to ignore a thread is helpful when we don't want to ignore everything the OP says on every thread, just want to ignore a thread we have no interest in that annoyingly keeps popping up constantly.

The techs are looking at it, but so far they have not been able to get the available plugin for that option to work properly.

Okay, help me understand so that I can look into some solutions.

How do y'all normally navigate the community? Do you use the "What's New" button?

Is it freebie posts that flood that particular feed?

If enough people are bothered by the freebie posts being in the feed, I may (I will check with our techs) be able to block that forum from the feed so that anyone wanting to see freebies would need to click on that specific forum to see them.

    I hit "new posts"
If I haven't been on for say, a week, I'll get 60 posts from the "freebies" section. 99% of them are useless to me so I don't bother clicking them. There's so many, it's annoying to have to wade through all of those to find the threads that have some actual content.

    Exactly what Russ said.

The poster isn't doing anything wrong and I'm sure some people love getting all the links to freebies, but it's annoying to have to scroll through them over and over looking for the other new threads/posts.

I do navigate this board most of the time by clicking New Posts.

On the positive side, I still think the FV cookbook forums are some of the best on the whole internet. Loads of great cooks here, past and present, and the cookbooks here are a fantastic resource for all kinds of foods, some of which I've never found anywhere else.

Thank you! That helps me understand much better!

I sent a ticket to our support techs to see what we can do to solve this challenge.

In the coming weeks I will be working on organizing sections and updating old tutorials etc, so you may see a few things move around a bit.

Okay, I think we "might" have it fixed so that freebies are no longer displayed when clicking "new posts" to navigate the community.

Please let me know if it is or isn't working.

If you go to your profile page, near the upper left hand corner you will see a box that includes "find latest posts" and "find latest started threads" Although I am sure there is a limit it goes back, I noticed it was way more than a few pages. I stopped looking at about 40 pages on posts.
