    Homemade Sloup

    Recipe Description
Yes the title is right. My kids have always called my homemade soup sloup so thus the name its kept. LOL I've been making this for years and everyone loves it. This can be frozen and reheated.
    Preparation Steps:
You will need a frying pan and a crockpot.
    Level of Difficulty:
    Easy with a little prep.
    Time Needed:
6 hours slowcooked in the crockpot.
    Ingredients:
1 pound ground beef, crumbled, fried and drained
    1 small onion, diced
    3 med potatoes, cubed
    1 carrot diced
    1 large can tomato juice
    2 cans chili beans
    1 can whole corn, drained
    1 can cream corn
    1 can peas, drained
    1/4 cup sugar
    2 tbsp chili powder
    Serves:Directions:
Crumble and fry ground beef and then drain.

While that is cooking dump all the rest of the ingredients in the crockpot and put on high. Add the ground beef and then cook for 2 hours on high and then turn down to low for the remaining 4 hours.

**If you want a low fat or diabetic version you can leave out the ground beef and the sugar and substitute a can of drained mushrooms to give a meaty taste and use a sugar substitute like Equal for the sugar. My husband is diabetic so I've done this several times.

    This sounds yummy.

Could you tell me how big the cans are (approximately)? Especially the tomato juice? I have a 64 oz bottle of V8 juice that Lauren didn't like when she tried it recently (and the rest of us already knew we didn't like it ). I also have some tomato juice on hand, but it's in the single serving cans.

I'll post this here too as I had missed Michelle's question and she pm'd me and I answered her in pm just in case someone else needs to know the ounces. I'm so used to cooking I rarely measure. LOL Okay the tomato juice is a 46 ounce can and the vegetables are from 15-16 ounce cans.
