New SAHM on forum
Hope to chat with other moms about kids and family. I have 2 young kids and i stay at home with them. My husband is self employed and works at home as well. Which is nice most of time
Love to have an outlet to ask questions and bounce ideas off of.

Hi there and welcome. My five boys are all grown up - well mostly...one is still 17 :-) and we have two at home yet. I stopped working when our oldest was born and have been a stay at home mom since then. My hubby and I felt it important that I stay home and we haven't regretted this decision for a minute. There seems to be a general idea out there that the mom should work to bring in some money but, honestly, for us it wouldn't have been worth it, even during the times that my husband's salary was on the low side. If I would have worked, we would not have received the family allowance (I'm in Canada), I would have needed to purchase new clothing, our grocery bills would have been probably double, etc. Now I am able to garden, do all of our baking (including bread/buns etc) and have time to spend with our boys and my elderly parents. Money isn't everything - we have enough to live on and enough saved up for retirement because we have never been huge spenders. This forum is absolutely wonderful and you'll glean a lot of helpful tips here.
