Being bored is a choice. There's always something new to learn, especially now with the internet to help a person learn new skills and ways to save money.

There are groups especially for moms of preschoolers, called MOPS. See if there is one in your area. Someone will watch your child so you can have time to visit with other moms, maybe do a craft, have some refreshments. Once you meet other moms, you may make some friends. There are a lot of free things to do. Take walks, go to the park, the library.

I agree, there are many things you can do to not be "bored", having a child doesn't mean life and fun ends. You can change that. Try seeing if there is a local group of moms who want to get together and include the kids.

Not everyone is made to be a SAHM. I was never bored, but I started 101 side projects that made increasingly less sense, and got in a increasingly worse mood. After a few months, I went back to work, and my husband stayed at home with the baby. I was happier, DH was happier, and the baby was happier. My workplace was less than a mile from our house, so DH brought the baby to work for me to feed her.

I agree. SAHM is not for everyone.

Why are you bored? What elements of work are you missing? Could you possibly create a home based business that would give you the best of both worlds?

    Hi Mary,
I know the change can be difficult but you can stay at home and work if you would like. I stay at home and work. There are plenty of at home jobs but if you would like I could tell you more about what I do to make you money and keep you from being bored.
