Ooooh...reminds me that I need to stock up on cranberries. I make a delicious cranberry salad, and want to plan better this year so that we can have it year round.

we have been trucking along quite nicely with our little stockpile. it has grown so much over the summer and i think that it has reached the point where if i add anymore stuff it will become unmanageable. we have a nice variety of items we use. so i think we are going to stop stocking for a month or so and see how that goes. (well, unless there's a really good deal...tee hee)

    last grocery shop i added:

2 bottles of baby shampoo (our kid only likes baby shampoo)
    2 bottles of mayo
2 packages of boxed raisins (so easy for lunches)
    3 boxes of cereal
4 tins of beef barley soup
    3 tins of pineapple tidbits
3 bottles of thousand island dressing.

Never heard of canned freeze dried fruit. Is it more shelf stable then the vac sealed type?

    Libby,

They are VERY shelf stable. Honeyville Grain (and other companies) sell all sorts of freeze fried fruits, veggies, meats, etc. I tried the fruit and it is great for cooking/baking. I am waiting on my first order of freeze dried veggies.
