Many, many eggs.
Probably way TOO many eggs...
FWIW, they WERE on the shopping list, my chickens are on winter break (but still functioning well as garbage disposals and entertainment) so we were all out. The cruelty free ones (or, if those aren't available, the cage-free organic ones) are soooo expensive, but I just can't bring myself to buy the conventional ones, no matter how cheap. So when I saw the store had a whole bunch of the CFO ones for $.87/dozen close-date... naturally I bought SIX DOZEN... (that left 2 dozen for someone else... didn't totally clear the shelf)
And naturally, the cashier thought I was crazy, even after I said they can be frozen (hey, she asked...) So now I gotta figure out the best way to do that (freeze them) I don't have ice cube trays, unfortunately, and my muffin tins are old and scary... fine for lining with paper and making muffins in, but not for directly touching food... hmmm....
Aside from ziploc bags and tiny tupperware, anyone got any good ideas?
zhoen-I give you permission to buy new tins.lol
I usually buy the liners off holiday and get them oh so so cheap. Kroger actually GAVE me a gallon bag full of christmas last march.
Ok do you plop whole egg in them and freeze them in liners?? Dumb bunny never heard of freezing eggs (And I'm chicken-Sorry)

Bi-Mart in our town has canned tomatoes this week (Italian, low-sodium, and regular diced) for 50c/can... limit 12, unfortunately, but I got 'em all. They also had a sale on tomato paste for 20c/can in packages of 12. Mine!
We have been trying to eat ours down a bit. No need to store large amounts when we are down to just 2 of us for the most part. I managed to get in the last 4 weeks 4 different $5. off coupons for purchases over $30 at our new Aldi store. Couldn't let them go to waste, so I have been stocking up on canned items. 12 can case lots of assorted beans, assorted fruit and veggies. I think I ended up with 14 cases of these. Now to find a place to rotate them in the storage area.
