I like to add potato flakes to my homemade breads for potato bread. keeps them moister and they don't dry out as fast. We are actually trying to eat down our supply some as I have lots, but I did add 1/8 th of a cow last week. ground beef, steaks, roasts, ribs and of course the soup bones too.

I've stayed home and not shopped this week. I've spent time reorganizing my stockpile and clearing some shelf space. Things had gotten shifted around so I moved like things together. Dh's bath soap, shampoo and shave cream are now all on the same shelf. All tooth paste is now in a plastic shoe box with tooth brushes stored on top in another box. Also, we inventoried items that need to be purchased and made a list. Its been very hot here so it was nice not to shop.

Just got back from Kroger. I spent $94 and most everything was on sale, had a coupon, etc. AND I got double rewards points for gasoline. Hubby's next fillup for his truck (plus a 5 gallon gas can full) will have a 40 cent a gallon savings!
3 jars of mayo
1 bottle of mustard
1 big jar of pickles
3 boxes of mac and cheese (for hubby)
hot dogs (hubby)
lunch meat (hubby)
big pork loin
bag of Cheerio knockoffs (hubby)
2 large cans of coffee
2 cake mixes
tortilla chips and potato chips (hubby)
BIG jar of peanut butter

Not my kitchen stockpile, but my office/school supplies one:
4 pack looseleaf paper
2 composition books
3 spiral notebooks
2 sharpie markers
4 bottles of glue
That's what was left after we took out what we need for the upcoming school year-- these are extra for another year or Sis' kids or whatever. Pretty cool that all but 2 of the bottles of glue were free!
We also took some things OUT of the stash-- two notebooks, a bunch of plastic folders and a few paper ones, scissors, that sort of thing.
The plan is to hit the loss leaders for the next month and stock up on the best deals-- they'll keep.

In the last 2 weeks I've canned:
10 pints of beef
10 1/2 pints of beef
5 pints of sweet zucchini dill pickles
9 pints of kosher zucchini dill pickles
6 quarts of turkey broth
The skim was clearance for $1.49/gallon! (Sell by date 29 July... I wonder if someone thought it said "24"???) The whole was $2.24, but I figured I could mix it half-and-half with the skim and come close to the 2% we usually buy... obviously that will only work on 2 gallons of the skim, but hey, at that price, we can all be a little healthier for a while...
So at that price, yeah, I bought as much as I could wedge into the freezers.

Can I hang out with this group? I need some inspiration.
I canned 31 half-pints of mayhaw jelly this week.
Also canned 17 half-pints of pepper jelly. About half did not set very well but it still tastes great.
At Walgreens picked up 2 mouthwash and 1 laundry detergent for 2.18. Used a $7 register reward from last week. Picked up another 2mouthwash and a 64 oz bleach for 98c. Received $6 in reg rewards so another Walgreens trip due this weekend.

Got a good deal on 4 black ink cartridges for my printer. I have my own business selling online and I print my shipping labels and other stuff. So the cartridges should last me about 1-1/2 to 2 years!

Water getting low so I picked two cases at 2.99 each. Between baseball and hurricane season, we try to keep at least 10 cases on hand. Down to 6 cases so I paid full price.
Two more bottles of mouthwash for only $2 plus got a $3 register reward to use later.
