I see the light.....
At the end of the tunnel---FINALLY!!
We have been waiting on our tax return since February when we filed. We had to mail it due to the form for the first time home buyers credit, then they said we were missing info. But we finally got it all together and they said we had to wait another 6 weeks....WELL, today we are told we are getting our deposit of $9,000 on FRIDAY!
Which means we are 4 months away from 100% debt payoff (with the house as the exception). The credit cards and MIL loan are being tackled with this refund and all the payments we currently put to that is going on the car loan and will be paid in 4 months. I am so excited I could screamWOOOHOOOOOO I see the light!!!!!!!

Congratulations! That is absolutely fabulous.
Is there a way you can avoid lending another interest free $9k to the IRS in the future? You may want to look into that.

We actually only gave them $1000...since $8000 was the first time home buyers credit. We have adjusted all our withholdings so that we don't give them unnecessary $$.
Id rather put it in 401K and savings. (Which I can't wait to up BOTH of those once these debts are gone!)

It sure is. I never thought I would get this excited. I thought I was close last year, then things came up and we had no savings---then we moved and borrowed $$.
This time we are plugging away at savings and will have no car loan (though Dfiance says he wants another loan GRRRRRRR I have to fight that one!) which will be a first since I bought my first car new at 19 (11 years ago) and have had car loans this whole time.I have never paid one off before--I usually trade in before I make it!
