A Hail Storm Success!
One thing always leads to another.... It hailed, damaged our neighbors' roofs, somehow missed any major damage on mine, but got our truck. The insurance doesn't total our '95 Ford F250, and gives us $2500 for those hail dents. We didn't even get the chance to fix the dents because......
That got me thinking about car values, and I noticed Chevy Cobalts were hot in our area, so I sold mine! Cleared $7k there. Now I'm driving the F250, bad idea mpg-wise. So I find a 2003 Nissan Frontier 4cyl truck with 47k miles on it, somehow talk them into selling it to me for $5800 after trade of the '95 F250, and came out so far ahead in the entire thing!
But wait....there's more! Then I found out my insurance was only going to be $33/month for comprehensive on the new vehicle, and I dropped two other vehicles. And trucks are only ~$80/yr to tag here. The refund from my Cobalt tags will pay for the new tags. I'll have to pay $290 in sales tax on the new truck, but so what after coming out this far ahead on things. .....and this all started with a bunch of hail stones falling from the sky. lol
