UPDATE: I think it Finally hit

Well, my mom called me at work this morning to tell me she was taking the next two days off to help figure out what was going on with papaw. They are now talking more along the lines of Hospice instead of Nursing Home. I think I started crying as soon as she hung up (thank goodness for the rain keeping the customers away this morning).

I had my little breakdown and recompossed myself.

Then when 10AM rolled around I decided to call my grandmother since that is what time she said she was going to the hospital. I called her and barely got out "Hey Mamaw" before the water works started again. She said she would let me know how things transpire throughout the day, but she did say that they've removed his IV's and now he is sleeping which is about all he does lately.

Boy did it feel good to do nothing but cry, amazing how you feel at least a little better when you get all that out. I'm such an emotional sap and cry over just about anything, but there are a lot of those times that I try to play the strong willed one even when everyone else expects me to breakdown.

I've pretty much re-recompossed myself since talking to my grandmother, but I am sure that when I talk to my daddy (who is the ex son-in-law, but my grandfather always liked him anyway

) it will start all over again.....(Maybe I'll put off talking to him until I get home from work)

Anyway, thanks for all your thoughts and prayers.

Sweetpea.....we're all here for you....if you need to take time to just sit & bawl, then do it.....I understand how important grandparents can be and you deserve the right to be broken up over all of this.....this is obviously a man you love very deeply....I'm sorry your family is facing this.....

Thanks everyone. I talked to my daddy this afternoon when I left work and broke down again, but since I've been doing better. I haven't talked to anyone since this morning (I'll call them in the morning sometime after I wake up).

I actually feel better when I come here, I can alway's find a reason to laugh or smile when I visit the village Its my own little pick me up/therapy.

I talked to my mom and stepdad this morning. They (grandmother mom and uncle that live their) are checking him out of the hospital and into Hospice sometime today. My Aunt that lives in Raleigh, NC is driving in today and my Uncle that lives in GA is driving up tomorrow.

Mom said that unless we wanted to see him not to worry about coming in that one minute he may know us and the next he won't. I just saw him 2 weeks ago and I really don't want to see him like that so as of right now I am not going home and my mom said that was fine and noone would think any less of me, who knows tomorrow afternoon I may change my mind but as of right now I want to remember him at home sitting in his chair and chewing his nasty ole cigars...at least he didn't smoke them

We (Joe and I) are suppose to be there next weekend anyway and noone (mom, dad, grandparents, aunts, uncles etc)....wants me putting myself and our baby into an emotional stressful situation. Besides, Joe has to work this weekend, and I am suppose to work tomorrow, so the last thing I need to do is drive 2+ hours sleep deprived, teary eyed and alone to see him for a few minutes and then drive back.

He is in one of those situations where if they can get him to eat and bring his weight back up that he may last a little longer, but noone knows for sure and noone wants to take a guess at how long it will be. Anyway, that is the latest news in the saga of my life. I'll update when I know something else.
